Final Entry to "Continue Swimming the Adventure with a Folding Bicycle" From 2/6/19 to 6/11/19 The Final Tally of My 2019 Adventure from Marrakesh, Morocco to Dakar Senegal: 2200 miles from Marrakesh, Morocco to Dakar Senegal via trains, buses and shared taxis. I managed 80 swims (kilometers), 12 in swimming pools and 68 in open ocean. One shark and wild currents, but the rest was great. I bicycled a total of 600 miles throughout the various cities and towns along the way. This gave me a birds-eye view of these amazing off-the-beaten-path destinations. But I'm glad to be back in the Great Northwest of the United States with my sons, Todd, Ryan and Gabe. I am enjoying my very elderly pickup truck and my LA Fitness swimming pools! Catching up with friends and family as well.

June 3, 2019 - Landed in Saly, Senegal

Saly Senegal And here I am in Saly, Senegal! Another fantastic destiny here in Senegal. I spent one week here before my flight home on June 11. This was the first beach on this adventure where I did not need my wetsuit. The water temp was spectacular. My host, Daniele is from France. She has a wonderful home that she lists on Airbnb. It is beautiful and her neighborhood is very tranquil and 3 blocks from the beach where I swam everyday.  This is a cultural performance Daniele took me to. Very cool. Daniele and some of her friends and myself ordering dinner. I prepared pizza bread for Daniele.

June 1, 2019 - Bocaur, My Second Airbnb Host in Dakar

Bocar, My Second Airbnb Host in Dakar Bocar is a delightful fellow who lives in the Mamelles neighborhood in Dakar with his girlfriend who is actually from Seattle. I did not get to meet her as she was visiting Seattle at this time. But Bocar was certainly entertaining and joyful. We had a lot of good laughs and conversation.  Below is a market Bocar took me to so I could shop for Senegalise Wax fabric. As you can see there are a myriad choices of these fabulous prints. Me and Bocar Bocar's home.
