March 27 to April 6, 2019 - Daklha, Western, Sahara - A Milestone to an Interesting Journey

Daklha, Western, Sahara - A Milestone to an Interesting Journey Arriving in Daklha is the answer to a more than year long manifestation exercise. I really didn't know how or why this destination was going to come about, it just did. Mostly future dreaming and imagination and present moment tending to details. But here I am and it rises way above my expectations.  I'm staying with a very cool young couple here in Daklha I booked through Airbnb, Sophie and Abdo. I cannot say how therapeutic and rehabilitative this ten days is. Comfortable, clean, secure, and just outside of Daklha in a community by the name of Kassam. Just a few paces from an expansive lagoon, Bay of Daklha where I can safely swim everyday. See photos below.     Sahara desert transport. Me in the back of a motorcycle-truck for the 5 miles from the CTM bus terminal to my Airbnb with Sophie and Abdo. Me in the back of a motorcycle-truck for the 5 miles f...

March 19 to 25, 2019 - Laayoune, Western Sahara, A Surprisingly Delightful Oasis

Laayoune, Western Sahara, A Surprisingly Delightful Oasis The staff at the Hotel Sable D'Or in Tan-tan, Morocco, helped me arrange a very nice little hotel at my next destination of Laayoune, Western Sahara. The Hotel San Mao Sahara right across the street from the CTM bus terminal, what a very nice surprise! It was also reasonably priced, clean, secure, with very polite and accommodating staff. And to boot, there in Laayoune was a very nice public pool where I got back into my swimming routine of one kilometer per day. My bicycle came in very handy here, riding at least 10 miles a day all around town, checking it out, finding food etc. In route from Tan-tan, Morocco to Laayoune, Western Sahara. Desert and Atlantic ocean.

March 17 & 18, 2019 - Tan-tan, Morocco - Officially In the Sahara Desert

Officially in the Sahara Desert and Officially back into my journey. This is Tan-tan, Morocco an interesting little town. I stayed at a neat little hotel I got off of Airbnb, Hotel Sable D'Ór. It was reasonably priced, clean with very nice staff. I got back on my bicycle to explore this little town and felt fully back on track and recovered. Love my folding bicycle :-)

March 14 to 17, 2019 - Tiznit, My Senses Return

Image
Landed in Tiznit on March 14, 2019 at a neat little hotel I found on Airbnb and had stayed at last October by the name of Hotel Alamal (not the photo just below, that's the refugee camp just down the street). But Hotel Alamal is very clean, modern, secure, peaceful, with very kind staff and a healing atmosphere. A great place to recover from the strange illness I came down with at Aftas Beach.  This is the refugee camp in Tiznit, Morocco. The painting is by a famous artist, sorry I forgot the name, but impressive nonetheless.
